On St. Nicholas Day, MTO® students visited two refugee homes in Dusseldorf, first on ‚Am Karweg‘ and then on ‚Lützenkircher‘ street. Dressed as representatives of St. Nicholas, with Santa hats, a sack full of chocolate and a big smile, they knocked on every door and handed out chocolates. The little residents were very happy about the lovingly donated gifts.
The aim of the initiative was to treat the residents, distract them from their everyday life and show them that although they have arrived in Germany as migrants, they too can celebrate the Christmas period.
