“Sterne in Wersten” – a symbol for the unification of religions

The guiding light of stars led the three wise men to the true friend, Jesus Christ. This light of friendship also brought together the evangelical church and MTO Shahmaghsoudi ®, School of Islamic Sufism ®. Since last year the initiation of the evangelical and Catholic Church “Stars in Wersten” have been working to bring people of different beliefs together.  On Sunday 8th December 2013, the students of MTO Shahmaghsoudi ®, School of Islamic Sufism ® attended an interfaith service in the evangelical St. Stephanus Church in Wersten. As well as partaking in singing and prayers, the students of MTO® were given the opportunity to introduce themselves through traditional Sufi chants of Zekr, recitation of the Holy Quran and short lectures. Apart from the unity of the interfaith service, mutual interests and great curiosity sparked interesting conversations amongst the different faith groups.
