Sufis spend Women’s Carnival with Ark Kids

Soon the time will come and the students of the MTO ® Sufi Community in Dusseldorf are looking forward to a colourful carnival party.

The young Sufis celebrate the carnival every year with the children of the Wersten Ark, a Christian children and youth organisation. The motivation of the young Sufis to organize such a celebration might be generated by the huge smile that is put on the children’s‘ faces when they see all the carnival accessories that are donated to them.

Nevertheless, a glance at the faces of the young Sufis is enough to ask who is having more fun here? After all, the celebration is all about decorating the party cellar with balloons and streamers and about costumes and children’s make-up – not to mention the children’s joint dances, games and sweet treats.

One thing is for sure: it will be another happy and colourful women’s carnival for the children of the Ark and the young Sufis. And we are already looking forward to all the shining eyes, pictures and reports.

Sufism is a known and lived current in Islam, with the focus on the experience of God through prayer, fasting, remembrance of God and all other Islamic principles. In Sufism, the immediate effect of religious practice through absolute concentration is at the forefront. The action and the self are at the centre of Sufism.

Sufism resembles a philosophy of life, which can be easily experienced and applied in all situations of life through the attainment of concentration, balance and harmony.

MTO ® is a religious community belonging to Islamic Sufism that exists worldwide and has been established in Germany for more than 30 years with several congregations.

The Carnival celebration of the Sufi students with the Arche Wersten will take place on 28.2.19 from 16.00. We are looking forward to it!
