MTO Shahmaghsoudi®’s

efforts in response to the COVID-19 crisis #mtocovid19response

Community Support

Students of MTO Shahmaghsoudi® are supporting critical care and support organizations such as hospitals, care homes, nonprofit organizations and other members of our local communities with donations of personal protective equipment (PPE), food, and other essential supplies in the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Sufi Psychology Association

Sufi Psychology Association (SPA) conducts research and offers experiential learning on Sufi psychology, psychotherapy and the practice of Sufism, as well as publishes a semi-annual journal, “Sufism: The Science of the Soul.” In 2017, SPA was awarded a three-year research grant through Brigham Young University from the John Templeton Foundation to conduct a large research study on spiritually integrated psychotherapy.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Sufi Psychology Association currently offers a free, online course designed to help navigate the psychological challenges related to the COVID-19 crisis.

Caring for our Caregivers

Burnout and suicide were on the rise with our healthcare professionals prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now with this crisis, there is even greater stress and pressure on our frontline workers. We need to ensure our caregivers have the resources and tools to alleviate stress, anxiety and burnout.

The Caring for our Caregivers initiative gives our front-line heroes access to stress relieving content. This program donates tablets preloaded with meditation, visualization, deep breathing, and other proven stress-reducing techniques and exercises to hospitals so healthcare professionals can access the tools they need amid the chaos.
