MTO has been in Sacramento for 34 years. Weekly sessions were held in MTO students’ homes in the beginning, then moved to a commercial space in 1992. Finally, in 2014, MTO purchased and remodeled a church in the Rosemont neighborhood of Sacramento and the students have been attending weekly sessions there ever since.
Over the years, the MTO students of Sacramento have enjoyed connecting with the community by hosting open houses, teaching Zekr and Tamarkoz® classes, and holding many weekend retreats led by Tamarkoz instructors. The COVID-19 pandemic put weekend retreats on indefinite hold, but the students still enjoy giving back to the community by supporting and volunteering with various local non-profits.
