M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® started its activities in Dallas/North Texas on September 1, 1986. The Dallas Center has a long and consistent record of service to the community and has been recognized as one of the most dynamic and committed in the State of Texas. The center, in accordance with the teachings of Sufism, has upheld its tradition of charity, interfaith dialogue, community service, and environmental advocacy work. Offering a hand of friendship to all faith groups in the North Texas area, M.T.O. Dallas has managed to form long-lasting interfaith relationships.
In addition, the center has been hosting multiple Open Houses per year and offering classes in Farsi, Tamarkoz®, art & mirror work, calligraphy, ESL, computer literacy, and ceramics.
M.T.O. Dallas has donated hundreds of thousands of face masks, face shields, surgical gowns, gloves, care packages, non-perishable food items, hygiene kits, books and school supplies, clothes, and humanitarian aid to hospitals, veteran’s organizations, food banks, homeless shelters, school districts, U.S. Postal Service, and police and fire departments, and provided complimentary medical and dental services to the underprivileged. In addition, the center served as a complimentary COVID testing site at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On September 4, 2020, on the 50th anniversary of the appointment of Sufi Master, Professor Nader Angha, M.T.O. Dallas received a proclamation from the State of Texas, declaring September 4th as M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi Day. On the occasion of the birthday of Sufi Master, Professor Sadegh Angha, in 2021, M.T.O. Dallas received a proclamation from the State of Texas, announcing February 4th as the Day of Sufism.  In 2022, M.T.O. Dallas grounds were accredited as an arboretum by ArbNet, the first arboretum in the city of Frisco and Collin County. Collin County recognized the M.T.O. Dallas Arboretum as a place for relaxation, meditation, environmental sustainability, and educating students and the community through a proclamation, declaring September 30, 2022, as Professor Nader Angha Day. On November 1, 2022, M.T.O Dallas received Metrocrest Services’ Hidden Heros award. Also, on February 4th, 2023, the city of Arlington, Texas recognized M.T.O. Dallas for its long and consistent record of service to the community by proclaiming February 4th as Professor Sadegh Angha Day.
