Class: Book Discussion – Sundays, 10:30 am – 11:30 am

MTO San Diego and its volunteers have always been dedicated to serving the community, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Through various initiatives, we have organized many events and collaborated with local community groups and leaders to provide essential items to refugees, the unhoused, the elderly, caregivers, and caretakers. We have delivered packages containing non-perishable food, protective masks/face shields, school supplies for children, and many other hygiene items.

MTO San Diego has received several proclamations, including recognition from Congressman Mike Levin and Judy Ritter, Mayor of Vista.

Moreover, MTO volunteers have collaborated with local and state park officials to preserve and sustain natural resources in Southern California.

In addition to providing assistance to those in need, the volunteers have also participated in major San Diego Book Fairs, presenting books, poems, and lessons from renowned MTO Sufi masters. We have also held seminars in colleges, universities, and libraries, including an introduction to Tamarkoz and Movazeneh.

By working with local communities and interfaith groups, MTO San Diego has shared the principles of achieving peace and harmony through prayer, meditation, and unity.

In addition to the weekly teachings presented by Professor Nader Angha, MTO San Diego students have organized small groups to research the basic principles of Islam and Sufism through selected book reviews.

MTO San Diego and its volunteers are grateful for the opportunity to serve their fellow community members and are committed to ongoing participation wherever it is needed most.
