M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® has been in Atlanta for over 25 years.  The center is currently in the city of Marietta while the new building is being renovated. The center’s students have engaged in numerous community-building efforts over the years. Ranging from interfaith open houses, charity work, and community-building events and gatherings. The pre-covid activities of the Atlanta M.T.O. center included weekly classes for painting and drawing, Quran reading, Arabic language, and Farsi language for both native and non-native speakers, as well as book reading and discussion classes.

Alongside these weekly happenings, the center’s volunteers engaged in various outreach activities, becoming a beacon of support for the greater Atlanta communities during the Covid pandemic.  During the pandemic, the school volunteers undertook numerous community charity events which supported the needs of the most hard-hit groups in greater Atlanta. These included but were not limited to healthcare workers, seniors and low-income families, foster care facilities, shelters, and senior and veteran living communities.

As a result of these efforts, M.T.O. Atlanta has been awarded several awards and proclamations by the local government. These include the Georgia House of Representative Citation letter, the Fulton County Salute to Citizens Award, and Georgia State Capital’s recognition in observance of World Water Day.

The center’s efforts continue today and are based on the needs of the greater Atlanta communities. These efforts include donations of essential supplies (food, hygiene, school supplies, PPE, etc.), mental health resources, and environmental sustainability gatherings and efforts.
