On the National Day of Prayer, May 4, 2017, the city of Plano hosted an interfaith event. The mayor and city council asked all citizens to remember that all faiths can pray together in their own way. The event began with a welcome by the City Chaplain, Police Department Color Guard, and the City of Plano Proclamation read by a city Councilman. The program then continued with presentations and prayers from various religious organizations. The M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Dallas/Frisco Center participated by performing a short zikr followed by a brief description of zikr, history of the School, and Islamic Sufism. After the event, participants joined a reception to connect with other faith organizations.
