On May 25, 2020, to honor Eide Fetr and to commemorate Memorial Day, students of M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Berkeley partnered with the Mayor of Berkeley to host a food donation drive at the Bear Pantry operation at UC Berkeley. The Bear Pantry supports the student families at UC Berkeley who, because of the current pandemic, are in great need of food. M.T.O. students donated 400 bags of groceries each containing 10 pounds of food for a family of 4 plus 400 face masks. Each bag of food was accompanied by an M.T.O. flyer with information on the Tamarkoz® App. The Mayor of Berkeley, Mr. Jesse Arreguin, and Associate Dean of Students, Dr. Glenn DeGuzman, attended the event. They both expressed deep appreciation for M.T.O.'s efforts to support UC Berkeley students and the community at large. Network outlets CBSN TV (KPIX) and KCBS radio covered the event. After delivering the food bags to the Bear Pantry, the M.T.O. volunteer served the attendees refreshments including pastries, desserts and soft drinks.
