The M.T.O. Sufi Association® co-sponsored the first ever Interfaith 101 event at UC Berkeley on November 14th, 2015. Representatives from 5 major faith groups were invited to provide workshops introducing their faith and practices to increase understanding and dialogue. The M.T.O. Sufi Association® presented a workshop introducing Islamic Sufism, the history and lineage of M.T.O.®, and the reality of practices such as prayer, zikr, and fasting according to teachings of the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism®. The event also aimed to provide a neutral space on campus for students of different faiths to come together and discuss religion. The later half of the afternoon was spent in dialogue about peace and how we can come together as a community of faith.
