On July 28, 2017, the M.T.O. Shahmahgsoudi® School of Islamic Sufism® Atlanta center hosted an open house, geared at raising Interfaith awareness within our community. The open house began with an introduction outlining the evening’s agenda, followed by a presentation regarding the history, origins and essence of Sufism and its importance as it applies to Peace. The presentation was followed by a demonstration of zikr. The guests then were invited to enjoy dinner, consisting of a colorful display of foods representing the Persian cuisine. The Q&A segment of the evening was successful, in that it engaged most of the guests into the discussions. During this time, many guests voiced their appreciation for the invite and the hospitable and peaceful environment that the Khaneghah building and its attendees provided. The guests also mentioned their eagerness to learn more about Sufism, upcoming events, and future Open House dates.
