Annual Luncheon of the Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee

December 3, 2015 Milwaukee Milwaukee, Wisconsin

On December 3rd, 2015, nine students of the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Chicago/Milwaukee center attended the annual fundraising luncheon for the Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee. M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® was invited to set up a table at the event so the interfaith community of Wisconsin can learn about Islamic Sufism. The event, which drew in over 100 people from varying faith backgrounds, began with the introduction of several faith groups, including M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi, who have recently joined the Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee. This was followed by a presentation entitled “Working for Justice” which focused on the high rates of crime within minority communities in the Milwaukee area. Each table, which sat members from various faiths, discussed this issue and how the faith community could help. The luncheon concluded with awards and recognition of different individuals and faith groups who over the last year had made substantial contributions to the Milwaukee community.
