On September 25th, 2016, M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi®, School of Islamic Sufism® was invited by the Plymouth Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to participate in their one-day interfaith conference entitled “Reviving Peace: Inspiration, Education, and Action for Change”. Students from the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® Chicago/Milwaukee Center participated in the worship service in the morning, which revolved around the story of Joseph. Two presenters spoke about what the story of Joseph means within the Christian and the Jewish faiths, and a student from M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi® discussed it from an Islamic Sufism perspective. In addition, music of worship was presented from the three different faiths, zikr being one of the practices. It was an inviting and respectful atmosphere, where the over 100 attendees participated in each others’ songs of worship.
